Nixology tattoo studio

Ljubljana · by appointment only

The studio

A small oasis on the edge of the city centre, where art and a good atmosphere meet. The space is designed with comfort, calm and a personal approach in mind, so that every client experiences something genuinely special, not just a service.

I do not keep conventional opening hours; I work by appointment only. That way I can give each person my full attention, allow enough time for the process, and create a private, safe and relaxed environment without any rush.

Nika, tattoo artist at Nixology

About me

I have been creating tattoos since 2019. Brush, pencil or needle, as long as I get to create.

I like exploring different styles, which is where the name Nixology comes from. My favourites are linework, neotraditional, fineline and watercolour, and I like weaving them together even more, to create a unique, recognisable signature.

I draw inspiration from nature: flowers, animals and organic forms. I work both in colour and in black alone.

What matters most to me is that every tattoo is made for the individual, that it follows the body flow and reflects their personality.

I believe a tattoo is more than a motif: it is an exchange of energy, trust and story.

I

Before your tattoo

  • Do not drink alcohol; it thins the blood and makes the work harder.
  • If you have any skin condition or other medical condition I should know about, please tell me when you book.
  • Do not shave or wax the area to be tattooed, so the skin is not damaged.
  • Drink plenty of water so your skin is hydrated.
  • Exfoliate the area (body scrub) and moisturise it several times with body lotion.

II

Arriving for your appointment

  • Please come alone, or with at most one or two people, as the studio is small and a larger group can disrupt the work. If you would like to bring more, please let me know in advance. Pets are unfortunately not allowed.
  • Come rested and fed. You are welcome to bring snacks and a drink.
  • Wear clothing that lets you easily expose the area being tattooed. I recommend darker, older clothes, as staining can happen during the work.

III

After your tattoo

  • Remove the film 2–48 hours after the tattoo.
  • Rinse the tattoo with warm water and pat it dry with a towel.
  • Apply a thin layer of cream 2–3 times a day for 2–3 weeks, or until the tattoo has fully healed.
  • For the first few days the tattoo may feel warm to the touch and the skin around it may be red and swollen. It will then start to peel and itch; do not scratch it and do not pick the scabs.
  • While it heals, avoid excessive sweating and exercise. Swimming, saunas and sunbathing are not advised for the first 3 weeks.
  • Once healed, I recommend a moisturising lotion and UV protection from the sun.

Frequently asked questions

Only if the person is between 16 and 18 and has the permission of a parent or guardian. I do not tattoo anyone under 16.

No.

The price is hard to set in advance, as it depends on the size and complexity of the design. For a rough estimate you can always send an enquiry or book a free consultation.

The time is hard to predict, as every skin behaves differently while being tattooed; it also depends on the size and complexity of the design.

You are always welcome to ask for a rough estimate, before or during the session.

Above all, do not be in a hurry. Rushing the artist can affect both the result and how you feel.

Pain during a tattoo is completely normal. Although it is usually entirely bearable, it differs from person to person, and depends on the placement and the length of the session.

If you feel any serious discomfort, please tell me straight away. We can finish early without any problem and split the work across several shorter sessions, so the process is kinder to your body.

Yes. Covering up old tattoos is always a challenge I am glad to take on. For projects like these I really recommend an in-person consultation, where I can show you in a dedicated program how the fix would look.

Of course. The only requirement is that the scar is older than 6 months.

Booking

You can book through Instagram or email. Please include what you would like, reference photographs (very welcome), where on the body you want to be tattooed, and the approximate size in centimetres.

You are also always welcome to book an in-person consultation, where we go through the options together, prepare a rough sketch, and I show you in a dedicated program how the tattoo would look directly on your body.

I am available for any further questions.

Along with the description of the motif, please also tell me your time preferences and any wishes about specific dates, if you have any.
